Best part of “The Right Stuff,” IMHO, was the cameo by Yeager as the old guy in the bar, the Happy Bottom Riding Club. I giggle every time I watch that scene.

Reading up on him, he broke the sound barrier after suffering two broken ribs two days before when he fell off a horse. He kept the injury a secret because he didn’t want to be removed from the mission. Talk about tough. RIP.

Alas, didn't have a college degree (space program demanded it), and didn't care much anyway to be a passenger in a capsule.
