RIP Charley Trippi

Doubt there is anyone one here who saw him play, but felt that the death of a 100 year old Pro Football Hall of Famer deserves a mention.

Actually, looking at his career, I’m not sure anyone posting on here can claim seeing the Chicago Cardinals play?

Coincidentally enough, I was reading something on the Cardinals and it hit me that they’ve been in Arizona longer than they were in St. Louis.

As for Trippi, he was one of the stars on their late 40s teams that won the franchise’s last title in ‘47’and lost to the Eagles in a snowstorm in ‘48, which was always a fun thing to watch on NFL Films. RIP

I remember reading that Red Grange was asked why he wore No. 77. He responded that the guy in front of him got No. 76 and the guy behind him got No. 78.
