I always loved this one. Simple song, but earnest.

Willie once kicked over a hornet’s best by kissing Charley on the cheek.
 
Streaks of six straight no. 1 singles and five straight no. 1 singles over a four year period. Four straight no. 1 albums. Few country singers have met or surpassed that kind of run. Few singers of any genre for that matter.

Ross Newhan, Hall of Fame baseball writer, posted on Facebook today that Pride was in camp with the expansion Angels in 1961. When he was cut, the clubbie snuck him a couple of tuna fish sandwiches because he knew Pride had nothing, including an unknown future.
