PS: One thing I learned, or rather was reminded of, in the Washington Post obit for McNally. From 1992-98, there was no replay. Owners dropped it as too time-consuming and not worth it. I mean, I was there then. I covered the league. And I honestly didn't remember that at all. How many here did?

Yeah, I remembered it. It was a Vinny Testaverde phantom touchdown in Jets-Seahawks in 1998 that brought it back.

Yes, Vinny had to be at least two feet short of the end zone and it cost the Seahawks a spot in the playoffs.

All Packers fans of a certain age remember the first iteration of replay. In fact, the 1989 Bears-Packers game, which was decided on a last-second touchdown that survived a review for an illegal forward pass, might be the first sporting event I remember watching (I would have been 5.)

After further review … the Bears still suck. My first recollection of the Packers beating the Bears.

I was a 17-year-old Bears fan with a broken leg from my high school football season when I watched that game live.

In retrospect, watching the “Magic Man” win and celebrate doesn’t bother me nearly as much as watching Rodgers post another of his routine, 100-plus wins over the Bears.

After he led the Pack to a Sunday night win in Mack’s debut with the Bears, I haven’t watched a single Chicago-Green Bay game since. I just can’t stand to see Rodgers win another game.
