POLL: What do you drive?

I drive a seven year old Saturn SL1 that I paid like $14K for. It's got 130,000 abusive miles on it and gives me no problems. Still gets 35 miles a gallon on the highway. It's a great car and I'd gladly buy another Saturn when this one kicks it.
But, alas, GM's going to kill off Saturn. I guess they can't make money selling good cars cheap. So I'd imagine I'll be a Honda or Toyota driver someday.

I am so envious of every person that has their car paid off. May of 2011 will be the best month of my life.

January 2012 here. Tis will be a great day indeed. I won't be even thinking seriously about getting another car that I have to pay on until my student loans are at least mostly paid of or until I am making more money.

Nothing but Pontiacs, thanks in part to the GM supplier discount. '89 Grand Prix (bought in '92) was my first, replaced by a '97 (in 2000). Loved that car and ran the hell out of it on the back roads around here, but had to dig it out of the driveway one too many times in the winter of '06, so bought an '07 Torrent that May. (Not only better in a foot of snow, but easier to pack for tailgates, too. For me, this was a crucial selling point.)

So far, no complaints ... and no car payments. Unless I run into circumstances beyond my control, I won't buy it unless I can write a check for it.

Right now, a 2007 Mazda 3. Drove one as a rental on our honeymoon and loved it. Bought one a few months later.
It's the first foreign car I've owned. Before that was a 2004 Saturn Ion, a '98 Malibu, and an '87 Chevy Celebrity. I used to be a GM man, but I just love that Mazda.

I went from a Dodge Aries K (crap) to two Pontiac Sunbirds (serviceable automobiles, hard to kill) and then to my beautiful, sweet Mustang and I miss her almost every day even though I love my Escape and the things it allows me to do.

I <3 Ford.

For now and forever. It's been good to me.

Drove a small Chevy pickup for many, many years and was very happy with how it held up.

When the time finally came for a change, I got a Suzuki AWD hatchback and have been pretty pleased, thus far, but it's only been two years.

Too many to count. The best of the worn out lot was an early '60s Plymouth Fury. Over-powered and sneaky quick.

Now satisfied with a 6-year-old Suburu Forester. Will buy another one if this one ever dies. And a year-old Honda Fit. Like that 40 mpg. Put on 20,000 this year. Most I ever put on a car in one year. My office.

I went from a 1953 Pontiac (complete with light-up Indian head hood ornament) to a 2005 MINI Cooper.

Jumped 50 years in car evolution in one fell swoop. Love my new car. Haven't had a moment of regret. Except maybe when I wonder how I'm gonna pack up my apartment in the next few days . . . .

Buddy of mine is rebuilding a CJ. It's taking more than two years for a tires-up rebuild. If he ever gets it done, it'll be pretty sweet.

Rocking a 2007 Toyota Corolla, it's about 1/3rd of the way paid off and I've put a tad over 40K miles on it since I bought it.

No problems yet, aside from two dents from people who don't know how to properly park and I'm going to give it a full working up once I hit the mid-way point of my payments.

I doubt I'll drive anything other than a Corolla for as long as I drive. I love....LOVE....that f-n car.

If Saturn dies and Hummer manages to soldier on, everybody in GM's top management should be jettisoned from the back of a C-17 without parachutes.

My first car was a 1988 Buick Century that my parents gave me as a first car when they got a newer one themselves back in 1999.
It had about 75,000 miles to begin with. I bought a 2004 Chevy Cavalier, green, in July of 2004, and had it for three years until getting into a head-on accident on a snowy night in February 2007 with a snowplow. After that, I switched carmakers to Dodge, getting the blue 2007 Dodge Caliber I have now. It's good in the snow, a big plus, and the mpg are pretty good too. I wanted to get a Chevy Cobalt, but my fiancee talked me out of it, and in the end, the Caliber was a better car anyway.
