As strongly suspected by many, this season of House will be the last . . . announced today.

Airing date of final new episode yet to be announced.

Damn.

So, how do you end it? It's kind of hard to think that he could go out happy.

Good. Lord, it's about time. In a related story, producers confirmed the show is ending because it was diagnosed with lupus

He either actually dies this time or gets sent back to jail for good. Maybe he kills himself or one of his fellows finally snaps and takes him out.

It was actually announced Monday or Tuesday.

When the season began, Hugh Lawrie had already said this would be his last.

The first five years or so were pretty good. But the last two years or so haven't been great.

This is seriously one of the biggest asshole moves in the history of this board.

**** you.

Ha, ha. Very funny.

I missed the part where you specifically asked the board not to spoil later seasons on a thread about the second season. I will go to my grave defending my reaction on that thread. What actually happened and what it got twisted into were two completely different things.

Anyway ... I thought for sure this was a "Mad Men" spoiler thread when I clicked on it.

I'm too smart to watch "House."

Congrats. You must have a secret source of far more adult laughs than I can ordinarily find on network TV. Other than House and The Good Wife, it's slow going.

P.S. The last line was in reference to a prior TV thread. It was tongue-in-cheek.

It's never ****ing lupus. Must be sarcoidosis.

So noted. Missed that one.

The news is depressing. By far, my favorite show of all-time. It was easy to relate to. When the last episode airs, I'll keep it on my DVR for two weeks, knowing after I watch it, it's all over. That's that. Much like I did when Season 4 of The OC came to a close (yes, I'm a nerd).

Never saw one ****ing episode and proud of it.

Why would you be proud of that? You may not be a fan of the show, but it's not exactly trash.

Yeah, it's not like The Situation is performing bunion surgeries for an hour. If you've never seen Dr. House at his finest (or worst), you missed out on some quality television,
especially in the first few seasons. Hugh Laurie is magnificent in the role.

Exactly. It's actually one of the better shows around. And Hugh Laurie has provided a career performance.

Per the ending, if it doesn't end badly for House, they're not being honest to themselves. It must end badly for House.

Also known as Nip/Tuck.

House was great for a few seasons, but it's an episodic procedural, which is fancy criticspeak for a repetitive show. They didn't have many good multiepisode plots even when the show was at its best, in the first three seasons. But the characters were fresh then. Now, it's limping worse than House.

I still get joy out of watching it, for 1) Great Greg House one-liners and insults, and 2) trying to guess which seemingly unrelated item and nonsequitor will trigger his "a-ha" moment. Yes, it's flagged of late, but it's still better than most of what airs (and almost ALL of NBC's lineup), IMHO.
