I'm completely jealous of the name. I would love a dog named Meow.

And I'd love to name my next cat Phideaux.

I actually did name an inbred kitten of mine (from many years ago) Typo. Perfect for a journalist.
I think the spelling of it is what would truly make it a good one.

I have to give my dad (Rallen13) props for that one. He introduced that name a long time ago.

These are ours. The little one is my daughter's, who can be a little rough on the cat at times but they are inseperable anyway.

My daughter gave her the same name we were planning to give a second daughter in case we were to ever have one ... now we have to think of another name in case it's a girl.

The big cat is the laziest, but sweetest, piece of cat-food-eating **** on the earth.
What was the name?

One cat that is nearly 18 years old. She was my wife's childhood pet, but she now jokes the cat and I are "sole mates." If I'm in the house, that cat is following me around or sitting on my lap or giving me head butts to the chin. She's also the most vocal cat I've ever heard. She's got at least 10 different types of meows, including a combination meow/yawn that makes me chuckle every time she does it.

One dog that is nearly 13 years old, that is mine. Half Rottweiler and half Golden Retriever. He's got the size and coloring of a Rott, but the head shape, playfulness and good disposition of a Golden. He's slowing down these days. After two or three trips fetching the tennis ball, he's ready to rest. Used to, he'd go until your arm was sore from throwing it.

I'll be absolutely devastated when ... you know, I can't even type it ... comes for either one.

On that, I can sympathize.

Ruthie had a dog named CJ (Cherokee Jeep, after her favorite vehicle in the universe) that saw her through a marriage, divorce, the Navy and marriage to me, as well. The day CJ died was one of the most difficult days of our lives.

It's amazing how these pets become family members.

Cats are the best. For one thing, you never have to worry about taking them out for a walk or to ****. And their loyalty is pure, unlike dogs, who are trained to never live without you.

As usual, you could not be more wrong. If you fell over dead in your house, your dog would stay beside you and cry until it died. Your cat would eat you. This might make cats smarter, but no way are they more loyal.

I have both, and I know my cats would tear my throat out as soon as they figured out I wasn't doing their bidding. I love them, that's just the reality. But my dog loves me like whoa.

One of my favorite pictures:

Cosmo, completely wiped out after my daughter's birthday party & being chased around the house by several six-year olds:

Amen, Arnold. Amen.

If everyone else is going to post their cats and kids ... I can no longer resist the temptation ...

Spot on. We have four cats and I love them ... but I know they'd kill and eat me if they had a chance.

1.) I shouldn't have generalized.

2.) You guys have never met my cats.

Given the opportunity, Shep would eat them. But they seem to be too fast to catch.

I'm pretty sure Shep would eat Maggie, who is sprawled on my lap as I type. She'd sniff him in a friendly gesture and he'd devour her in one gulp.

Casey would give a good fight though.

Actually, he's kind of dumb. He can tear apart a coyote but he'd probably get his ass kicked by a cat.

One cat. She bites me every day and would eat my dead carcass in an instant if she could. But I love her anyways. Best damn idea my girlfriend ever had.

My cat wouldn't stoop to eat me. I'm not good enough for him. He gets an attitude if I leave even a smidgen of mayonaise on a piece of turkey from my sandwich.
