A Palestinian woman stabbed an Israeli Jew in Jerusalem’s Old City on Wednesday, just hours after the lifting of restrictions on Palestinians entering the disputed Al-Aqsa Mosque compound brought in after last week’s fatal attack.

The 18-year-old Palestinian woman attacked the 35-year-old Israeli man with a knife near the Western Wall, close to the site of Saturday’s fatal stabbings which claimed the lives of two Jewish men.

The injured Israeli man then pulled out a gun and shot the assailant, seriously wounding her, Israeli police told The Telegraph. It was the third knife attack in the city in less than a week.

You know what? I'm reading those headlines again, and although I can see your interpretation, it's certainly not the first that comes to mind. It seems rather clear to me that the attacker was the Palestinian.

Even if you read it your way, the focus of the headlines is still off. The stabbing is the news, the death of the assailant should be secondary.

It seems designed to outrage folks about the death, and plays into the idea that Palestinians are victims of Israeli aggression.

Not clear enough. Surprised you can't see the problem with those headlines, ****. Let's be clear about what actually happened here:

1. A Palestinian terrorist went on a stabbing rampage with a knife.
2. He murdered two innocent Israelis.
3. He was then shot to stop the rampage.

The true meat of the story is the stabbing attack far more than the retaliatory shot. You really think the fair and accurate way to introduce readers to it is along the lines of "Palestinian Killed ..and, oh yeah, a couple Israelis also died..."?
