Can you be water-boarded after you're dead?

Too bad.

This ****er laid the groundwork for who we are today.

His hated of Trump couldn’t elevate him from the miserable piece of **** he was

That's an understandable position. But I can appreciate that he stuck to his principles while the rest of the party was flip-flopping to whatever Trump wanted. I sure don't like that he started the ball rolling on the unitary executive theory of governance that is on steroids now.

In 2001 or so, the Dallas Morning News posted a graphic announcing Cheney's death, with links to many stories about his life and work.

The DMN was just 24 years too early.

He was long finished in politics by then, correct? Easy to stick to principles when there's no career or financial risk to doing so.

Flags at the White House are at half-mast. But what about at Halliburton?

**** Cheney did some terrible things, and yet he still knew that the President is restricted by laws and the Constitution, and that the executive branch had a power sharing arrangement with Congress.

Man, this.

**** him. He was the worst president before Trump and got away with it.

After Bush’s reign, especially with the Iraq debacle, the Dems should have had the presidency and both houses of Congress for 20 years. Instead, Dems kept being afraid of attacking the past.

Made sure the vendetta cannons were turned on his daughter’s congressional career, although she leaned into it once the last pretenses of MAGA living within the rule of law were wiped away.

It's probably bad karma to enjoy people's deaths, but this is one of the better deaths in America since Reagan finally kicked the bucket.

Of course, both of those pale in comparison to the celebration that is coming soon (we hope).
