There will be games on Christmas Day TV.

Care to wager on that?

Actually, yeah. But I doubt we'd trust each other.

Stern today: First games will be Christmas Day.

Ahem. Oh, ye of so little faith.

But ... but ... the deadline for Christmas games had passed! Stern said it was so.

It still doesn't change the fact NBA players would be on welfare without professional basketball.

No, it really is.

I thought Ragu had the monopoly of posting pictures of black kids.

The white guys are just as stupid as the other ones. SI ran an article in 2009 stating 78 percent of NFL players and 60 percent of former NBA players are broke

If you think a lot of players have marketable skills without pro sports, you're delusional. A lot of athletes aren't known for hitting the books. And please don't bring up the few anecdotal stories that just represent a minority. BTW, it's racist to suggest only blacks are on welfare.

In the end, the players folded. They missed one check and were going to miss another next week. A lot of the role players aren't willing to fight Derek Fisher's battles.

Another guy who you can tell is lying by the fact that his lips are moving.

I wonder how many euros were lost signing NBA players to short-term deals.

OK, someone enlighten me. The NBA players missed one paycheck and folded, right? I get that. But many say they wanted to salvage the Christmas Day games, but Christmas falls on a Sunday this year and the NBA will only be up against...the NFL. I don't see big ratings for the NBA in that kind of scenario. Then again, I don't care much for the NBA anymore anyway.

There are no NFL games that day except the prime time game (Packers-Bears). The rest of the week's slate is on Saturday the 24th.

Only NFL game on Christmas Day is the Bears-Packers on Sunday Night Football.

The rest of the games are on Saturday this year.

Oh, I thought I read otherwise.

NBA didn't want families across America getting together and, over dinner, discussing how no one misses the NBA and how its players would all be on welfare anyway w/o the league.

Now they can get together and ignore the three games on TV and talk later about how it's not a popular sport.

I thought families during the holidays discussed whether uppity is a racist term.

Joe wants to note that he does make an exception for that nice young man, Jimmer Fredette, who seems smart and whom he knows would be fine with or without basketball.

The NBA uses children to turn their food stamps into lottery tickets and vodka!

Jimmer has multi-level marketing schemes to fall back on. Plenty of people in the LDS Church who would sign on if Jimmer were the pitchman.

I'm surprised the NFL hasn't taken the opportunity to kick the NBA's ass with a Christmas tripleheader.

How much a year do you make? I doubt they would make much less.

True, but I don't have several homes or cars that need to be paid off, or monthly child support payments.

Don't you come from a place where multiple marriages are acceptable? i thought I might see a little more compassion from you on this.
