After watching all the East finals games on TNT, I wish they'd get the NBA Finals too. I know it's a cable channel and not a network, but between their studio crew and having Marv call the games, it's just so much more enjoyable to watch a game on TNT than ESPN/ABC.

They just do a better job. But keep it in the studio, boys. The post-game show from the arena in the conference finals blew.

I would too, if I got it in HD.

I still don't know who won, and I still don't care.
But that doesn't mean I represent a larger group. I was in Philly for some of the Detroit-Cleveland series and people in the bars there were going ape **** for pro hoops.
Large crowds gathered around the teevees and they were all cheering on the Cavs.

I guess the media can call off the LeBron slurpfest. Something tells me MJ, Magic and Bird wouldn't have gone 0-for-the-first-half against the Spurs.

Are you kidding? It is a long series my friend and correct me if I am wrong but people were calling off the LeBron slurpfest after he passed up a game winner then missed a game winner in game's 1 and 2 of the conference finals and we all know how that turned out.

Before all of you guys right off the Cavs, I want you all to remember how important the first 2 games where for the past two finals. The Heat lost their first two in Dallas and everyone was ready to right them off. Or how about when the first two games for the Pistons during the 05 finals?

Game 1: Detroit 69, SA 84
Game 2: Detroit 76, SA 97

And what ended happening? The Pistons came back made it into game 7(and if it wasn't for a clutch Robert Horry 3, they probably would've won it).

Ok look this the Spurs not the Pistons or Detriot, there better than both those squads they don't give up leads like that.

I said the NBA was going to be right up there with the NFL in the future.

Thats just not ever going to happen, unless the NFL does something really stupid to shoot itself in the foot (actually it would have to be several things).

Again, I hate to parrot what the espn morning radio guy says, but its my belief too: All the playoffs except the NFL just take too damn long! 2 and a half months is too long. 7 game first rounds is too long. Spurs not playing for 8(?) days before the Finals is too long. The average fan (me) loses interest, big time.

And since ABC has had the coverage, they have the most plain, boring, vanilla coverage possible. Mike Breen is a flatliner.

I must agree.

I really like the way Duncan and Parker played last night they were on fire, and Parker was leaving the CAVS in the dust ever-time he would go to the basket.

Why for god's sake is game 2 not till Sunday?
It's still in San Antonio right?
Are they determined to make this year's post season the longest ever?
The NBA should really cut 15 games from it's schedule.
82 games is too many when every round in the playoffs is seven games.

You might get your wish if the ratings keep dropping. This may be the lowest-rated NBA Finals ever despite ESPN's lame attempts to say "Care about this! Watch this!! It's better than summer reruns!!!".

The ones who care are watching, just like the NHL, MLB and other sports. Maybe it's about time the NBA went to cable. Heck, pretty much the entire pre-World Series postseason is on cable in baseball. It might be the wave of the future.

Game 1 ratings: 6.3 rating and 11 share. The previous low was a 6.4/11 in 2003.
Last year’s Game 1 between Miami and Dallas earned a 7.8 rating and 14 share

I wonder if the Cavs are gonna start Gibson over Pavlovic(or maybe even Hughes because of that injury to his foot)

I will sit Hughes and start Gibson if I was Coach Brown.

Brown has said repeatedly that he is not starting Hughes over Gibson for Game 2, and he's been asked about it several times. His rationale: "We've gotten this far with this lineup, so why change now?"

Um, because your starting point guard has a serious foot injury, can't take any more cortisone or Novocain injections, and is getting torched by Tony Parker every time he gets the ball? Or maybe because he loves shooting jump shots despite the fact he's only shooting 35 percent in the postseason? Or maybe because your team's point differential was about 12 worse with Hughes on the floor in Game 1 as opposed to when he sat?

Hughes said he wants to help his team, and until somebody tells him he's hurting the team, he'll keep playing. OK, then...

LARRY, YOU ARE HURTING THE TEAM. FOR THE SAKE OF KEEPING THIS SERIES COMPETITIVE, SIT DOWN.

How boring are these finals? This is the first post during Game 2.

I missed the first half, watching The Sopranos finale. As soon as I clicked to see what the score was once it wrapped up, I realized I would be better served to watch "Flavor of Love: Charm School" tonight.

Oz, at least reference a plausible show as an alternative.

Like "Celebrity Fit Club".

Well you missed a pretty good 4th quarter.

The Spurs played perfectly throughout the whole game but I think they ****ed that all up in the 4th. That was huge for the Cavs to come back and make it interesting. Now they have confidence heading into Cleveland.

The Cavs could've EASILY made this a 3 point game heading down to the final minute. LeBron brought the team back all by himself. But then he started going Magic Johnson during the final 5 minutes by dishing it to everyone.

HEY LEBRON. EVERYONE AROUND YOU SUCKS. YOU BROUGHT THE TEAM BACK BY YOURSELF SO WIN THE GAME BY YOURSELF.

Screech = Charm School. Same childish acts.

And yeah, I did watch the fourth quarter -- too little, too late.
