Bone and Taylor were part of his killer band on his Live Shots album, recorded while he was touring England with the Clash. One of the best live albums few people have ever heard. (Warren Zevon's Stand In the Fire is in this discussion too.)

Through a college roommate, I got to hear plenty of Stand In the Fire (when he wasn't leaving me with a permanent distaste for the Eagles). I don't want to know what he was on for that version of Werewolves of London.

You ever hear the story behind Zevon's band for "Stand in the Fire"? He really didn't have a band, on his albums to that point he was backed by some of the best session players in L.A. (Wachtel, Sklar, Kortchmar, Kunkel/Porcaro, more). The record company was after him to put out a live album so they could cash in again on previously released material. Warren was in Denver and kinda randomly went to see a Zevon tribute band. He was so impressed by them that he hired them as his touring band and they did that album with him.

Reading his bio, he didn't join the band full-time until after 1989's Disintegration, which was the band's commercial peak.

That's misleading. MTV's music channels in Europe were shuttered. America still has its MTV, or whatever is left of it, as well as MTV Classic. For now, anyway.

Yeah, it's a **** show, but they are still technically on the air. I checked today and MTV was airing Big Bang Theory, b/c goodness knows anyone who has cable can't find that on TBS or Nick at Night. Looks like MTV2 had Catfish **** on. MTV Classic is still showing blocks of videos, which is all I care about. Have to think that'll be on the cutting block at some point.
