The Dodgers just hired Mark Mcgwire to be their hitting coach. The Yankees should've hired him - just as they should have hired Mattingly as their manager.

Re: Mark McGuire

Hiring McGwire would have been a mistake for the Yankees. They would have had to fire him in four years when Jetes takes over.

Re: Mark McGuire

Does McGwire still live in southern California? If so, all things being the same he would have chosen the Dodgers.

Jeter is one of those rare players that doesn't need an 'apprenticeship' as an assistant coach. If he told Cashman he wanted to manage the Yankees, Girardi would be gone immediately.

Yes he is from SoCal but did the Yankees even talk to him? Cashman should be talking to anyone who can revive the Yankees bats. A new hitting coach is 'long' overdue.

I have said this before but Barry Bonds would also make a great hitting coach. Forget the steroids, no one knows more about hitting except maybe Tony Gwynn.

Kirby Puckett, too.

McGuire's moving? Who gets the columnist job in Albany?

How about Ted Williams' head?

Is this just an exercise to see how many times we can misspell McGwire?

Mark Aguire was a hell of a small forward

Is Mark Maguire related to Jerry?

He's the executive vice president of business operations for the Cubs.

Derek Jeter works out to posters of McGwire's strong, muscular thighs ...

All jokes aside, hats to argue Mark isn't good at his job with what he's done with a lot of those Cardinal bitters the last few years.

Don't forget her brothers, the McGuire Twins.
