I have long had a debate in the office that Juliet is more attractive than Kate. And I think the way she looks in this episode is only making me think that more and more.

this episode was just 'eh', especially compared to last week. I don't think we really learned anything we didn't already know, except of course...(spoiler)

Ok, just throwing this out there as I watch the episode:

I have long had a debate in the office that Juliet is more attractive than Kate. And I think the way she looks in this episode is only making me think that more and more.

OK, back to the show.

They're both attractive. Kate looks better than Juliet when they're both haven't showered for several days, but Juliet narrows the prettiness gap when they are both dressed up.

I agree, the show itself was so-so. I guess I really can't expect to get blown off my feet every week, so I give them a pass on this one.

Are we supposed to believe that it was just a coincidence that those two arrived at the power station right in the nick of time to turn off the device?

Or did I miss the explanation.

I thought it was interesting that the two people who were supposed to be killing everyone on the island according to Ben actually shut off a device they claimed he would use to kill everyone on the island.

Ben's going to claim that because he already used it to kill all the Dharma villagers. He's probably afraid they've come back to get revenge on him and take over the island. He's trying to use the flight survivors as his own protectors to save his own butt.

A couple other questions I've wondered about. 1. What happened to all the kids who the Others kidnapped? Where are they now? and 2. Why haven't any of the Others tried to rescue Ben yet? I know they don't necesarily trust him, but he did have some followers? Where are they?

And that, my friends, concludes my 400th post.

I got the impression the warning stuff was caused by Faraday trying to render the gas inert. It wasn't going to be released if they didn't show up. But by trying to neutralize it, they were risking it being released.

The time travel stuff was starting to make my brain hurt a little, so I appreciated a more straightforward episode. And that was a beautiful bit of misdirection in the open -- Juliet talking about being a celebrity so we think it's a fash forward and she's one of the Six, only to reveal it's a flashback.

So if you believe Ben's version, maybe he's trying to wipe everyone out on the island because he thinks that would be better than Widmore turning them into the world's biggest freak show.

I'll be really impressed if the mystery freighter person is anyone other than Michael. Who could it be that would be truly shocking? Mr. Eko? Charlie? Walt? Some kind of duplicate Ben? Maybe it's Nikki or Paulo.

I'd rather wake up next to Kate though. She probably doesn't have cottage cheese thighs. Juliet does. Goodwin told me.

Juliet has great eyes. Seriously. You might date Kate, but you'd marry Juliet.

A fine episode; had to come down a bit from last week, and I'm not sure that we learned a whole lot new except that the two from the freighter apparently don't plan to just exterminate everyone. Which is nice. But it was entertaining. And I'm guessing Locke gets a revolt on his hands before long.
As for next week, put it this way, I'll be shocked if Ben's "man on the boat" is anyone other than Michael.

I agree with this. They didn't stop Ben from doing anything, but by screwing with the system to disable it they risked releasing the gas. Although I don't understand what it is Faraday might not have been able to do. They played it off like he was worried about killing people, but I assume he just meant that he was worried he couldn't shut the system down.

Anyone else think that the whole Michael being the man on the boat thing is the worst kept secret in the show's history? I mean, really. I haven't read any spoilers or whatnot, but all i see on Lost message boards and on threads about the show is that Michael is coming back, Michael is coming back, Michael is coming back. At this point, I'll settle for anyone else in the entire world if it means it's not Michael and he's secretly going to come back later in a way that's actually shocking.

I want to watch the episode again before I pass final judgment, but one thing from previous seasons doesn't jibe with the way that Ben was all puppy dog about Juliet. When he went into Juliet's house the first time that we saw her (Season 3's first episode?), he made a sarcastic comment about not being in the book club anymore the way that an ex-boyfriend would.

Is the "her" which Mrs. Goodwin referred to Ben's childhood crush?

So Penny's dad sends a boat, but Penny doesn't know about it?

It may be Michael, they certainly seem to imply that, but they have implied things before and then again it could just as easily be Walt, a grown up version of him.

And if you watch the tease, who the crap is the woman in chains that throws herself off the boat? She looked to be a face that hadn't been seen before and how did Goodwin's wife, just show up, then disappear?
I think that might be a major plot point for future episodes and might very well explain many of the things that have happened on the island so far.
And is the reason why Jack wants to get back to the island so bad is because Juliette is still there?

I think this episode just set us up for more shocks down the road.
