I mean, last year's outing was Atlanta, which meant it was bound to suck, but IJAG did a good job getting it together (and getting us good tix).

I can't remember the name of the place we closed down on the second night, but it was good times.

Here's a quick regional MiLB glance at the better spots:

Chattanooga home 9-11 AUG, 29 AUG-2 SEP
-- Decent little stadium, cool downtown scene, decent food

Nashville home 16-18 AUG; 30 AUG-2 SEP
-- Stadium sucks and isn't close to downtown, but downtown is pretty good

Asheville home 9-11, 23-25 and 30-31 AUG
-- Way cool town. We've already been to two series this year

I'm not far from any of these, though I can't be there until Aug. 31.

Would be highly interested, though. Nice start to a break ...

I just remember getting like 2 hours sleep before driving you to the airport.

Gwinett home 9-11 AUG
-- I got nothin' here. IJAG?

Coolray Field is not really close to downtown, and it's even further from the airport. It's not far from the Mall of Georgia and the attendant restaurants and bars that come along with that. I've not seen a game there and haven't really heard anything negative about the experience. OTOH, haven't heard any glowing references to its ambience either. On your list, though it would be the easiest for me, I'd probably rate it last.

I really like the Louisville stadium, and it's like 45 minutes from the casinos in New Albany.

While it would probably put it out of my reach, a Kentucky outing would also be convienent for many in Big Tweleven country. Just remember the FBC starts in full force Aug. 31.
