Thought I'd start one since the debut is tonight.
LJB, your thoughts?

Looking forward to it. But I wish the focus were a little more diffuse here.

I understand James Otis gets the shaft again. Adams would not have been cool with this.

A man's man and glamor boy ought to be playing Hamilton, not this fop, whoever he is.

Hamilton was a Tom Brady of his time.

LJB, I'm confused.

You pretty much despise the guy who wrote the book this is based on, yet you're looking forward to it?

When all you have is The Patriot, Revolution and the terrible Barry Bostwick-driven Washington network miniseries (full of '80s conceits) to tide you over for 25 years, yeah.

A miniseries like this can't truly begin until everyone in the academy has wrung his hands over how badly it's going to suck. I'm looking forward to that Greek chorus over the next several weeks than anything else.

I bought the book last week. McCullough is hit or miss for me (I loved Truman and Mornings on Horseback but tried to read Path Between the Seas three different times and failed). I will be interested if this guy follows the action

Very interesting stuff on that blog if that's your cup of tea.

That's a great blog.

Here's another one with a review of the miniseries.

So do I watch these as they come in, or save them to the Tivo and watch from start to finish?

I can't believe they skipped over Adams teaching in Worcester! That's where he learned everything he knew and where his courage was most tested.

I guess they were afraid to tell the real truth.

I am not sure about this yet. The cinematography is stunning and they nailed the period. It ran a little dry for me.

Man, do I have a thing for Laura Linney, though. I understand that Abigail Adams was the dish of her times, but let's face it, those pictures of her are not doing much for most of us. Laura Linney, though, is a ridiculously handsome woman who just seems like she would be a dream to spend time with. (Please don't destroy that with bad stories).

After episodes 1 and 2, I say to you sir, eh.

Of a possible five, I can give 'John Adams' only two Powdered Wigs.
