It's going to be a long, hot summer and a really cold fall in NY. Pretty amazing they didn't even make Ferguson available.

Yes it is, but it's even more amazing that Mark Cannizzaro -- every time he is slighted in some way by the Jets writes a personal opinion story. Since he is not a columnist I am just not sure why the Post allows it.

True. I thought the same thing. I think he has a legit gripe in this case. I'm still not certain it needs to be a story.

From The Can:

What team in the NFL is not going to parade its top draft pick, the No. 4 overall pick in the draft, a pick that has been universally praised and a local product from nearby Freeport, in front of the public to celebrate his signing?

Answer: Not a single team in the league, other than the Jets.

Are there any Dolphins writers who might want to weigh in?

Yeah, he's whining like a little ***** but the situation with Ferguson is absolutely inexcusable. No PR guy worth a **** should let that happen.

May the Can was at buffet table when rest of media had player access and wrote this as a CYA.

It's still a pretty bush league move on the Jets part.

Maybe so but you don't write a newspaper story about it.

I don't necessarily have a problem letting the fans know that the team they are paying thousands of dollars to a year is flipping them off.

The reporters are the fans' representative in the locker room.

But this was SO editorialized and ****ing whiny.

A much more maturely written story.

LOVE this I'm sure intentional double entendre from Ziegel:

"The Hepburn kids ... did a lot better than the cream of American journalism waiting across the street, in front of the Jets' dorm and dining room."

There's a good point.

Just whiny then.

mark is incredibly whiny. that said, mangini is calling these shots and isn't exactly currying favor with the media. he obviously doesn't care, but this is a disgrace nonetheless. i hear the p.r. director hid from the media yesterday. good thing. i'm sure he has no defense other than, "i'm following orders."

yikes!!! what an embarrassment.

at least in new england, belichick has become pretty useful during pressers. mangini figures to be useless. so much for his phony assertions that "i'll do whatever i can to help you guys."

this has all the makings of belichick's tenure with the browns, which was ugly. difference is, mangini won't get a second shot.
