Venice.

Just got back and popped the question near the end of the most expensive meal I'll ever pay for. I highly recommend it as a course of action. I feel certain I will finish my life 1-for-1 in such situations, regardless of location.

And, yes, I'm playing way above my league.

Is it too early to begin parsing the symbolism of Fenian's Posted Images: The Early Years?

Congrats, DBV! I second (or third) the question: what was on the menu?

Congratulations.

Now, what did you have to eat?

Well, I'm a food rube so the gourmands can't expect glowing comparisons/criticisms. I paid big money and it all tasted good to me. My fiancee had the sea bass encrusted in potato flakes; I had the fillet mignon, which came with a cream sauce and capers. One of our appetizers was Eggplant Mediterranean (I've blanked on the other, which may be a significant problem when she tests my memory on future anniversaries :) ) We had seafood risotto before the main course. I'm not a wine man, so I asked for help and had an Italian red recommended which was good enough that I didn't mind drinking wine.

I know that won't meet foodie standards, but it's the best I can do.

Del,

Now I know why I didn't see you in BFE over the weekend. Congratulations, my good man. You deserve all the happiness I am sure is coming your way -- and for that matter is already with you.

My best to her too.

That'll do. I'm such a geek for food porn...

Thanks, JD, and to the rest of the well-wishers. Next time we're in BFE, we'll give you a shout and eat a decently priced meal.
