And the administration decides to forfeit the next game.

Kudos to the adults in charge at Long Beach Wilson High School. The team had gotten into a fight in a game earlier in the season as well, and I am guessing the coaching staff/admin told them no more, or there would be consequences.

Now that's a tense nickname.

Wow

In Kentucky, it's a 36-point lead at any point in the game. First quarter? Doesn't matter.

It's also the point of no return. Doesn't matter if lead drops below 36, clock still runs.

Of course in Kentucky, we have softball games ending in bottom of the third inning (15-run lead), baseball ending in the bottom of the fifth (10-run lead), soccer ending at halftime (10-goal lead) and basketball has a 30-point running clock.

We might make people decide whether to shake hands, but at least the game their shaking hands after won't take very long!

Compton is now in the playoff picture thanks to the forfeit but have yet to even score against a league opponent.

They’ve not won a game on the field this season and have been outscored 196-0 in league play. The other forfeit win for Compton came after Millikan played an ineligible player in a 54-0 game.

I hate the Southern Section's playoff system.

They've been on the receiving end of two forfeits, but your point remains valid.
