No he didn’t. You don’t bring up death threats as a de-escalation tactic.

You don’t think every one of these celebrities get death threats all the time? Even Hannity - again, not a guy I like, it must be said - gets death threats I’m sure. His family too.

By dragging his family into the spat, Kimmel is drawing attention to the threats - which is just what nutballs who make them want - and simultaneously trying to guilt Hannity, like he’s the one who made them, which we know he didn’t. In other words, Sean Hannity, worm, correctly points out that Kimmel was a big time misogynist on his Man Show, and somehow, that resulted in death threats against Kimmel’s family? What’s the implication there?

The weird thing about the whole deal is Kimmel's "dis and dat" thing that started it. I have no doubt Hannity has been looking for a chance to "fight back" on high ground, maybe he suddenly learned of the "Man Show" clips and figured that was enough to justify it.
I imagine he'll get a Presidential Medal of Freedom from Trump before the year is out. (no joke).

Sometimes I feel I’m two ships passing through the night with some liberals on here.

I can’t stand Hannity. I’ve written it for years. Death threats are awful. Hannity is awful.

That said...not a good apology to even the LGBT community, because it’s littered with justifications and things unrelated to his actions, like those death threats.

Hannity awful. Death threats awful. Apology not good. Those three things can be all be true simultaneously.

I think the world has lost its collective mind. I hate people who rail about "political correctness," but. ...

1) Hannity started this.
2) The ass circus thing wasn't the best burn ever, but it was adequate.
3) I honestly think Kimmel had zero to apologize for, after the gay sex digs. Those "Does Trump prefer you on the bottom" and "when your clown makeup rubs off on Trump's ass" are only homophobic if you put yourself into a vacuum, are going to offended by ANY reference to gay sex in any context for the sake of being outraged, forget that Jimmy Kimmel is a comedian and ignore Sean Hannity's history of homophobia. Hannity was once fired from a radio station for a bunch of gay slurs, including his calling AIDs a gay disease and saying the media was hiding salient info from the public about it. He also said, "Anyone listening to this show that thinks homsexuality is just a normal lifestyle has been brainwashed. ...these disgusting people." He said that AIDs was spread when gay men consumed each other's feces, and said that homosexuality was a "lower form of behavior. He compared gay sex lives to "playing in a sewer" and said gay people are "filled with hatred and bigotry." The "Does Trump prefer you on the bottom" joke would be exactly the way to get under the skin of someone like him. ... because TO HIM gay sex is "disgusting people" stuff. He's the homophobe. I just don't understand being offended by Kimmel. He didn't say anything derogatory about gays. Are we supposed to pretend that gays don't have sex, and that gay men don't go top / bottom and that gay men don't engage in ass play? The instant outrage is much worse than being honest and open about the fact that gay men have sex *gasp*. ... and to someone like Sean Hannity it is the most disgusting thing in the world *gasp*. But the minute Kimmel went there, you knew the instant outrage was going to come.
4) Of course Kimmel has a career to worry about and ABC wants to avoid controversy. So he gets put into the unfortunate situation of having to do a mea culpa for something that he really shouldn't be apologizing for. Maybe in another context. But that dig was to a guy who has a history of moralizing about gay people and calling them disgusting. If the world wasn't so sensitive and outraged for the sake of being outraged, people would look at it and say, "That is the perfect place to go with Hannity."

Read somewhere (unfortunately, don't have the link handy) that Fox took the first 20 minutes of Hannity's Friday show (where he went nuclear on Kimmel) off its website. Maybe Hannity's bosses have had enough of this...not that he gives a ****.

I find Billy Baldwin interesting. Figured after Internal Affairs his career was made, and he had Backdraft (which wasn't great) and then his career kind of fell into journeyman territory. Still married to Chyna Phillips. Probably the least scandalous of the Baldwin tribe. (and yeah, that's not saying a lot).
