I'm thinking Tiger Woods has to be considered one of the favorites if not the favorite. If Federer wins the U.S. Open he should be considered but he'll get jobbed again.

Anyone from the baseball season sticks out? Pujols? Howard?

Basketball? Maybe Dwyane Wade will get some Top 10 votes.

Maybe they will just give it to Lance Armstrong again...Floyd Landis appears to be a long shot.

I'm an enormous Federer fan, but if Nadal wins the Open then he should certainly get some consideration since he would have won two Slams.

Doesn't matter either way since Tiger will win in a blowout, leading to a long article about him overcoming his father's death and masterting his swing changes to once again dominate golf.

How bout Zinedine Zidan? Thanks to one idiotic play, he had all of America talking about soccer for a couple of days.

I think that's the key here, there's plenty of time left. If Jeter or Pujols carry a team to a title, or even if Detroit wins it all, I could see them going lame & giving it to the Young Guns (Verlander, Zumaya, Liriano, Papelbon, Weaver). As for Agassi, how do you come up with another cover story on the guy 6 months after Smith's classic? If Nadal beats Federer in a great final (or even loses one) could they give it to both as the rivalry to save tennis?
