I'm late to this and if it was already in the NBA playoff thread I apologize, but this was so good. Giannis addressing whether the Bucks' flame out this year was a failure:



He's right, in everything else in life, just because you don't achieve the ultimate doesn't mean your life is a failure.

Unfortunately, for fans who are not doing the playing, only the rooting, its so easy to say when your team doesn't win that its a "failure."

I do wonder if the reporter was aware of Budenholzers brother dying - figure Giannis knew. Helps put things in perspective. Particularly at a time when various players use the "disrespect" or "Chalkboard" to motivate themselves.

His perspective may be different but I truly believe that his answer applies to all sports regardless of where you came from.

In this era of three sports talk radio stations per town and constant monitoring of every professional athlete, it's just the reality of it.

His answer definitely applies to every amateur sports organization, where lots of these people go nuts trying to chase a scholarship.
