Totally agree. The defensiveness about MJ is bizarre - like you're telling people their childhood was a lie if you suggest Jordan is not beyond debate as the best ever.

(And for what it's worth, I think the Michael vs. LeBron debate is a battle for third all-time.)

In his prime, James did not win 100% of the NBA championships.

Holding the trophy is tangible. And don’t give me the teammate horse****. Did the Heat win the title every year James was there with Wade and Bosh?

Sam “The Bam” Cunningham did not provoke Bear Bryant to integrate his teams after USC wrecked shop in a season opener at Legion Field. It probably did speed up the rate at which Alabama fans accepted that change.

I’m guessing he had been recruiting Black players for some time — if only months — but when the first appearance of said players occurred, a year had passed since Cunningham and people assumed the link.

And the opposite myth is also untrue - Bryant didn’t schedule the game specifically because he wanted his all-white team to get shown up by an integrated squad so the powers that be would give him free reign in recruiting.

Ok that was probably not the best argument, but needing to get Draymond suspended to win game 6 and the Dubs having a lead with 5 minutes to go then never hitting a bucket again was probably more to the point. Lebron had that block but he didn’t block every shot for 5 minutes and he didn’t hit much in that stretch either until Kyrie.

The point is more Lebron’s critics didn’t stop because his golden “I got Cleveland a chip” was more about the Warriors falling apart than anything.

I get what you’re saying, but there’s really not much more LeBron could have done in that series. He led every statistical category for both teams.

That the series ultimately came down to a Kyrie shot and a freak defensive stop by Love doesn’t change LeBron’s impact.
