My wife is about to flip her wig. We have a bunch of very tall, very bushy tomato plants, but they have yet to bloom AT ALL. Is there a secret, or are we just not doing anything right.

I Miracle Grow them once a week and plant them about six feet from the side of the house. You don't want the sun on them all day, they'll dry out. Mine get about three hours of sun in the morn, then a few hours of shade and three more hours as the sun sets. I can't wait to eat one, still sun warm, right off the plant. Mmmm... mama mia!!

I have a bunch of hot peppers growing. Does that count?

Grow enough of those and the difference between the Fit and Yaris will close in a hurry. [/CrossThread] :D

Don't forget to pluck the suckers.

Oh, and Granny, you DO want as much sun as possible.

These are friggin' plants that thrive on it.

Ok, I've grown tomato plants ( back in the day) for about ten years.

Cherry tomatoes, plums and beefsteaks.

This is not rocket science folks.

Lots of sun, prop them up, regularly feedings.

These are plants from the Mediterranean.

You cannot, and I repeat, you cannot give them too much sun.

Same as peppers.

JR. I shan't get into are argument with you over how much sun tomatoes need because you seem like a sweet kid.
Four plants, 29 coming in: I think that along my years of Italian upbringing and knowledge of the "blood fruit" speaks for itself.
