We've gotten an incredible amount of rain in Georgia over the past 24 hours, with more to come throughout the day. The course may still be a little soggy come Thursday, though I'm sure no place has better drainage than Augusta.

Not only back-to-back but it would be three in four. I'm not feeling it either. I think a lot of people *want* Rory, but it's just not in the cards there for him, methinks.

Every 8-10 years there's an unexpected Masters champion. Danny Willett won in 2016. Zach Johnson and Trevor Immelman went back-to-back in 2007 and 2008. O'Meara was a good player but no one saw him coming in 1998 with Duval, Couples and Furyk contending, and Jack making everyone go crazy early in the day. Woosie in 1991. Mize in 1987. I think we're due for someone like that. Some guys playing well to okay this season that fit the category are Corey Conners, Thomas Detry, Michael Kim, Tom Hoge and Denny McCarthy.

This definitely has a wide-open feel. Scheffler always a good pick, but he doesn’t have a front-runner feel to me.

I sort of have a gut feel that Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm will contend. But my gut could just be indigestion.

And yes, Rory is playing extremely well coming in….

I love Rory. He's my favorite player. But I think he's doomed in majors. It was only June that he gave away the U.S. Open. Even at the Players last month, he snuck in a 4-footer to make a playoff after losing a lead on the back nine.

Now, I can see him shooting 64 on Sunday and posting a score that wins coming from behind. But I think the pressure he puts on himself is too much in majors. He's scarred...until he isn't anymore.

I hope he wins.
