It's a topic that's been hotly debated since the inception of the board. Which show is the best comedy of the last 20 years.

Now, let's find out once and for all.

1, Seinfeld
1, Simpsons
1, Curb Your Enthusiasm

The others are playing for the consolation championship.

Gotta go with the Simpsons. I've never seen "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Is it good enough to be mentioned with shows like "Seinfeld"?

Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm are not funny. Or at least this Jewish New Jersey-ite doesn't appreciate the humor in them.

Last 20 years
- Since Cheers had its final five seasons during that time it deserves to be a nominee.
- Californication on Showtime definitely deserves to be among the nominees
- I'm sure there are a few other sitcoms from the late 80s through the present I'm forgetting about.

If I was to vote only based on the current nominees, I'd have to vote for The Simpsons.

No, it's not. It is a good show, but should not be in the running.

I enjoyed Seinfeld, but its best was never as good as the best of the Simpsons and the Simpsons have been better for longer.

I like Californication, but no way does it make a list like this for just two seasons on cable.

And Frasier sucked. Bad.

Californication isn't so much a comedy as it is television gold for a thousand reasons.

Twenty years is too short a window. Some of the nominees are no more than fair TV shows, period.

The Simpsons - and it isn't even close. **** Van Dyke and I Love Lucy still hold up. Seinfeld was a classic of the '90s, but really "of" that period.

Even though it was only on for three seasons, Arrested Development rocked.

Otherwise, my vote's of course for Seinfeld.

That's the one show I thought might be on this list, and I'm glad it wasn't.

Never saw what mystical hold that show had on some people.

You have to watch it through from the beginning. I guess it's not a show you can just jump in on randomly. If it has a flaw, that's it, but I would venture that's only the case because of the varied cast of characters.

Whatever. This list is incomplete without AD, the Office and 30 Rock. And while I enjoy both, Entourage and Scrubs aren't on the same level as the other shows on the list.

I voted Simpsons, by the way.
