I'll echo this as a fellow SoCal native and add **** Enberg.

Me three. Growing up in SoCal we were so lucky with our broadcasters. I was too young for Enberg on UCLA, but he was so good on NBC with the AFC. And also excellent on tennis and golf.

MLB: Denny Matthews
NFL: Pat Summerall
NBA: Marv Albert
NCAA FB: Keith Jackson and Verne are 1 and 1A for me.
NCAA BB: Verne and Raftery were very good together. Of course, you could put a 19 year old zit-faced kid in year 1 at Syracuse with Raft, and he would make it seem like they've been bar buddies for 40 years. I would love to be a fly on the wall of whatever bar Raft is at. Good Heavens, the stories.
NHL: Doc
Golf: I sure do miss McCord and Kostis. CBS screwed the pooch on that. Don't get me wrong. Nantz, Faldo, Pepper, Frank and Finchy are very good together. Immelman's 1 and 2 are getting better, but it would be awesome to have McCord and Kostis back on.

Jesse Ventura was funny when he was calling him "Chico" Santana.

Speaking of great broadcasters, there's the immortal Billy "Red" Lyons, a mainstay of the squared circle in southern Ontario for years. "Don'cha dare miss it!"

Voice of God division: John Facenda, Bob Sheppard, Tom Carnegie

I was stumbling through some old Phillies videos and ran across a 1974 team film, narrated by . . . John Facenda. Complete with NFL Films music. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Apparently NFL Films was based in nearby Cherry Hills, N.J.

As a youngster, I called him every dirty name in the book.

Any that you left out, I'm sure I supplied.

Tom Kelly made this moment as much as Marinovich did.

Pete Arbogast thinks you got it wrong.
I didn't care much for Arbogast, then I met him and liked him.
I read a feature on him. During his free time, he goes to hospitals and reads to patients who are in a coma or some other similar condition. If a family member shows up, he excuses himself and leaves. Very noble thing to do. Unsung hero.

It wasn't Kelly?

That is really cool! Thanks for sharing, Chris.
