at exactly 12:35 p.m. EDT, SportsJournalists.com takes a 10-15-minute "lunch break?" and I get a "connection problems, server may not be available" message.

Anybody know why?

It used to do it around 1:15 p.m. EST. I guess it has not changed its clock yet.

For me it usually happens at the office around 10 a.m., after that second cup of coffee runs its course.

Wait, what were we talking about?

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.
It used to be 11:35 before daylight savings. Webby adjusts for no one; they can adjust to Webby.

There was a thread on this a while back. My favorite explanation:

Moderators' smoke break.

I noticed that too.

It's a cue for everyone to step outside and enjoy fresh air for a little while.

But it backfires, because we just hit refresh and start trying new browsers and hyperventilate.

Not all of us. I was locked out for two days last week and it was almost nice. As far as I knew, no one lost their job, no one got furloughed and journalism was thriving. Then I got back on.

It's a corporate wide furlough. During the down time, you will not get paid, but you will be expected to pay for your insurance, taxes and contribute to Webby's lucrative buyout plan.

Takes that long for the powers that be to transport the server from home to their office in Tahoe.
