Fart is the Dennis Rodman of SJ. Once you watch closely you realize he has game and does
all the subtle things well. Label me a fan.

-I'm glad MMII used my pooping thread as an example. Brings a tear to my eye.

- What is this 4Chan? I must go look.

OH MY GOD! MY EYES! MY EYES!!!

They have a politics board! It's where you go if you think Stormfront has gotten too moderate.

You flatter me.
Thank you, sir. I admire your presence here, as well.
Hey - for a lot of us this site is a way to get through the grind.
Let's be honest with ourselves as a community, for once.

I'm just a dude.

I post, and I have fun with it.

Ban me once, ban me a thousand times. I'm still just having a bit of fun. My real life is quite far removed from the comings and goings here, as it is for most who have moved forward amid the upheaval in this profession. The people I communicate with from here, I do so on social media and e-mail.

Great minds.

As someone who has (I believe) a track record of being pretty non political and neutral on most subjects beyond pop culture, I can honestly say no one has ever made me click on a link I didn't choose. If a thread goes some direction I don't want to follow, I simply don't go there. I am against the locking of threads and limiting free discussion.

I'm pretty much in line with you, but my only issue is that the vile pissing matches that take place on the politics threads ruin it for those of us who want to have legitimate discussion. The threads just got so personal and made so many people angry that the politics board just wasn't worth it anymore. I agree with those who say suspensions/banning is the better way to go. Not at all a fan of locking/deleting threads.

Second dat. It would be a Crimea to ban anyone for anything else.
Groan. We'll exile you to the Ukraine for that. The Ukraine girls will really knock you out. ;)

I just don't take this very seriously.
I realize that's not a philosophy many people here want to accept.
I am as real, in real life, as any guy or gal here.
So stop persecuting me.

This is exactly why I call you a troll. I get that you claim not to mean at least some of what you post, but I really don't care. You go out of your way to cause problems. That you are only doing it to entertain yourself is irrelevant. Hell, that's why most of us read and post here. That does not make you unique.

Your attempts to force political conversation that doesn't even fit some of the topics you post on is counter-productive. I believe you are genuine in your desire to see the politics thread reopened. In my opinion, when you play your games, you are not helping make this happen. You are making it less-likely to happen.

Then why can't we get some transparency at least? If you're creating boundaries, it helps to mark them clearly.

Those points have been made many times, but you do have multiple moderators with varying levels of tolerance. Expecting the exact same enforcement from all of them at all times is just silly.

OOP, if it were put to a vote and only one of you could stay, Fart wins in a landslide.

I've said this before ... when there is a major news event, SportsJournalists.com quickly has a thread on it with plenty of links that can get you various angles on a breaking story. That's one of the things many of us appreciate about this site.

Then after a few days, the thread often devolves into the familiar political battles, name calling, and — from what I understand — bitchy PMs to the mods and other board members. Out comes the padlock.

Like the media in general, we do breaking news well here. Analysis and commentary? Not always.

As I said, no problem with Fart, but it is sad to me that aggravating the **** out of people qualifies as entertainment. But that's the internet, I suppose. It's almost to the point that those who are causing problems are pushing even further because everyone has come to expect it. In fairness, I'm not sure you are the best person to criticize Mr. Fart given your adversarial relationship.

JC, I don't need to be popular to be right. And even you know I'm right.
