Pastor says he wouldn't go to a mechanic when he needs a surgeon, so he goes to scientist for science.

So since science is based on guesswork, would he go to a palm reader for a guess on his future?

Again, science is everchanging, and yesterday's fact is today's rebuff.

Carry on....or out.

Science is based on guesswork? Really? ::)

A hypothesis, which is then attempted to be proven, and often, the proof is altered, or further proof rebuffs the former proof.

Maybe a Moddy can do everyone a favour and delete this thread now.

Yawn...How many times do you need to have your ass handed to you on this argument? Three times a year? Four times? Five times? Please stop.

He can't stop. That would involve evolution.

I don't understand why conservatives aren't bigger supporters of the theory of evolution. It's all about adapting to your environment, survival of the fittest. If don't adapt, you don't survive.
It's personal responsibility. I thought conservatives were big on personal responsibility.

You're conflating political theory with religious belief. That, like creationism, is something else I'm uncomfortable with.

If you want proof of evolution, all you have to do is ask a doctor about bacteria that have become immune to penicillin and other antibiotics. How do you think that happened? Magic?

Well, even the ardent creationists will allow for a limited form of evolving by current organisms, if I recall my reading and listening on the subject. Which is sporting of them.

Walls can't hand asses to anyone. They just sit there refusing to move or bend.

A hypothesis begins as an "educated guess" that seeks to validate itself with proof.

Your move, puds.

The point of that last evolution vs. "intelligent design" thread was to promote this 2-hour installment of NOVA on PBS:

It's posted online now for those who missed it.

Hey (very distant) cousin. If you're a believer in the theory of creationism, please answer the following two questions:

- is every human in the world related to eachother through Adam & Eve or through Noah & his family (who were the only ones to survive the 40-day flood)? Either way there was a hell of a lot of incest going on since A&E didn't have any daughters for Cain & Abel to mate with and Noah & his immediate family were the only ones to survive the flood. The book of Genesis makes no mention of God creating other humans at the time of the Garden of Eden, just Adam & Eve and their kids. Then Noah and his children were the only ones to have survived the flood.
- Why and how did God kill the dinosaurs? Did he kill them by telling Noah to keep them off the ark or did he kill them through another method that allowed all other forms of life to survive (contrary to scientific theory)?

ESJ -
I will give you the answer that they give at the Creation Museum.
Noah brought baby dinosaurs onto the Ark.
I am not kidding.

If they survived the flood, why did God smite the dinosaurs later?

Creation Museum?

That's where we should have our next SportsJournalists.com outing.

After reading part of the original Evolution thread.....and seeing the thread title on this, me and Amy Winehouse have the same response.

"No, no, no."
