It's bad. Been up there a few times to cover games. Pretty much all farming country and State Route 99 is the only way out save some secondary roads.

This is a very poor area in a low-income county.
Many people probably don't have working vehicles.

It's not the *** itself, but the spillway. The spillway has a lip at the top of it that keeps water in the lake until it reaches a flood elevation. If that lip collapses, the lake will all spill out at once. It'll be in effect just as bad as a *** failure.

This is real bad. And, yes, it's the spillway, which has never been used before. This has the makings for an epic disaster.

It's a race against time right now. If they can get the spillway to hold, they'll have the waterline below the top of it and the immediate danger will subside for now. But another big storm is expected later this week.
