This is a rare case where I don't know how I'd vote as a juror. Dude starts a fire, LAFD comes and puts it out...only they half-assed it, were warned repeatedly over several days that it wasn't out...then it rages back up and burns my old neighborhood and dozens of others to the ground. In the words of Billy Joel, the LAFD "didn't start the fire" but they sure as hell deserve most of the blame.

Central and Eastern Washington have been hit hard this weekend as strong winds blasted across the state.

It’s not just sparsely populated areas. Thousands of people have been evacuated out of the northwest part of Spokane after a wildfire jumped the Spokane River and entered a densely populated part of the city on Saturday.
