I saw a preview for this on Bravo a few days ago (I'm watching the channel far less now that they've dramatically decreased their West Wing reruns) and it's going to be on Monday night at 9 p.m.

Apparently it's a short reality series about the New York Daily News and its battles with the Post to get the top story along with the demands of being a reporter in NYC (that's how it was billed in a review of the show). I've also read that the Post was first approached to do the show and they turned it down.

In any event, is anyone planning on watching this?

I'm mildly interested. I probably won't tape it, but if I happen to catch an afternoon repeat, I'll watch.

I'm Tivoing the hell out of it. Then again, one of the guys shown in the commercial was a part-timer at my paper about two years ago. So I'm in!

Why? Was he cute?  ::)

Don't cry me no crocodile tears, future Mrs. IJAG-Friedman-Kaysar-Jacoby. :D

First of all, if you cared about me at ALL, you'd know his FIRST name is Kaysar, and his last name is Ridha.

Secondly, it's Jacoby above all else.

I wouldn't marry Elliotte. Just use him for breeding pretty babies.

Well, it wasn't that I don't care about you. I just didn't care enough to do a Google search to find his last name.  And you and Elliotte would make beautiful babies.

But you have to catch him first.  :D

I actually had Michael Cooke, whom I read was the big editor in the thing, teach my copy editing class back in J-School.
Classic. Gonna tune in just for that. The Brit accent alone should be good.

I've seen the first two episodes.
Definitely worth checking it out, especially if you're a news/newspaper junkie.

When I was hanging with Leon Carter last March, we talked about this show and he told me there is a sports angle to it, although you know it's going to be lame.
If my memory serves me right, it's about an intern covering a Liberty game.
Guess the Yankees AND the Mets were both on the road that day, hmm?

I'm pretty sure MLB gave zero or very limited permission to Bravo when they wanted to shoot something from the sports side of the paper. I think the film crew was allowed on the field before the game, but not in the press box or locker room. I believe Bravo also wanted to film reporters in their homes or during "down time," though not sure if they got any takers. Not everyone in print wants to be on TV for the sake of being famous for a minute. And not everyone in print wants their personal life on display.
But I'll still watch it.

As a former Daily News intern who has covered the Liberty, I resent that.

For some reason Bravo isn't showing it up here but the Globe TV critic wrote a whole damn column on the show. WTF?

So you're going to be on TV?
Congrats.
And I'm sure the Liberty beat has its high points.

American Bravo and Canadian Bravo aren't the same network, JR.
You'll have to get DirecTV. ;D

Thanks. I didn't know that.
And no, I don't think so. :)
