I keep clicking on here to see what sort of incoherent rant beej has.

I am shocked that we have none yet.

It would be fascinating to see which former players are still getting what and from whom.

There was a link to the story that had a list of a few players who will continue to receive money.

Yeah, I saw that link with the partial list. I guess I was looking for a more complete list. Even if the names aren't familiar anymore and the amounts aren't much, I'd still love to know who's still getting what. I'll bet there are some off-the-wall interesting stories out there.

The best part of Football_Bat's assertion that Bonilla is a "broke former athlete" is comparing it to Bonilla's quote about why he chose to defer:

"I decided I wanted to live the rest of my life as if I were an active player."

What was the point of that post, F_B?

That was a fantastic story with great reporting. And I always like it when someone like Bobby Bonilla turns out to be wiser than you imagine them to be.

Barry Bonds will soon be a broke former athlete who will be a convicted felon for the rest of his life.

A little angry and misguided today?

Don't go overboard with how great the reporting was. The Wall Street Journal told the story in 2010 -- with a quote from Bonilla calling the contract "that beautiful thing" -- and I can't find much new from ESPN that isn't based on that initial WSJ report.
