Andy Rooney RIP

i know others have made this point but i'll add my .02: i swear, as my mrs. shockey and i watched his farewell commentary last month, i said. 'he'll be dead within two months.' many long-standing faces have nothing else to live for once they step aside. not that it taks a genius to take a guess that anyone in their 90s is likely to soon pass.

rip, mr. rooney. you raised us well.

So what was the cause of death?

In the obit read, complications from minor surgery. But I couldn't figure out what the surgery was. And I don't think, at 92, anything is considered minor.

He was 92. He died of what we used to call old age.

His final words on the way up to a better place:
"Isn't it odd that I'm seeing peace and tranquility ahead of me and the biggest ****ing mess on the rock I'm leaving behind? Sad really. It's such a beautifully colored rock, like the marbles I used to buy for a nickel in the day."
