I haven't paralyzed one yet.

"Doctors don't expect Guzman to regain any feeling or mobility below his waist, authorities said."

I suppose the guy got the desired effect.

Bullets go through doors. Don't stand in front of the door when you're barricaded in your girlfriend's bedroom and her father is on the other side SHOOTING A ****ING FIREARM.

Yet.
The one she's dating now is testing my patience. He's so stupid that if you kick him in the ankle, a week later he says ouch.

I'm guessing daddy isn't going to be getting any visits from his little girl in jail.

Life in prison and having his daughter hate him. Almost enough punishment for what he did to the poor kid.

And I say that as a father who will not be well liked by his daughter's boyfriends once she is old enough to date.

You don't want them to like you ... just fear you.

Have you tried the "Son, you want a beer?" test on any of her boyfriends yet?

Hey, I don't blame the father. It's not like he robbed a bank or anything.

Mine were always scared of my dad. He'd never hurt a fly, but he's 6-4 and rather imposing, plus I dated rather wimpy guys in HS.
That's because fifth graders are easily intimidated...

Yea, it's the kid's fault, platy, because it's normal behavior for a father to shoot through the door of his DAUGHTER'S bedroom.

I didn't mean to imply the kid was at fault for getting shot. However, common sense tells one not to stand in front of a door when some dumbass is throwing rounds through it. You are right — Dad's got a screw loose. Smacking the kid around with a bat was probably good enough.

And if your Dad is 6'4", why are you only 5'? (in heels) ;D

It could have been the first round through the door that hit him.

Technically, he's my stepdad. I'm the family runt though.

Good points, both.
Now, I'm going to go track down the girls' tennis coach and the cross country coach before I have to go cover a city council meeting tonight. :P

Can't remember who it was -- comic, maybe? -- who claimed the first thing he said to his daughter's new boyfriends was, "Nice to meet ya. You know, I'm not afraid to go back prison."

Life imitates art.

I like it. Set them up to fail. :)
