My hands look my grandpa’s.
They are worn. They are wrinkled.
Mostly they are scarred.
My hands are strong.
My hands are gentle.
My hands bleed.
Mostly they bleed. A lot.
My hands are tanned by the sun.
My hands are cracked by the cold.
My hands can mend a rip in my clothes.
My hands tie complicated knots.
My hands shake when I eat soup.
They grip 50-pound bags of feed;
They fumble my toothbrush.
My hands have dug in the dirt;
They’ve scratched in the sand.
They’ve punched men in the face,
They’ve begged my good lord for grace.
These are my hands,

Give that guy a hands!

That wasn't me trying to be a poet. That was just me riffing because was posting in another thread, looked down at my hands, and realized how worn they look.

"Rosie you're all right, you wear my ring
When you hold me tight, Rosie, that's my thing
When you turn out the light, I got to hand it to me
Looks like it's me and you again tonight, Rosie ..."
