A guy I went to high school with was a contestant on there and won a show or two, blowing away the competition. Never had as much fun watching that show as when I actually knew one of the people competing.

after a while, the contestants started kicking ass on a regular basis. So then they change the events to stuff that people can't rightly train for. Breakthrough on conquer (football/wrestling) becomes that stupid event where you're suspended upside down and propelling yourself with velcro knee pads. Or that hamster ball event. Laaame.

I've always wanted to meet Aimee Ross, one of the original contenders. She grew up the next town over from me, but I never heard of her until the show.
Damn, was she cute.

Channel surfing ... came across American Gladiators marathon on ESPN Classic. Sweet.

I wanna see a "where are they now?" ... what's Zap, Blaze, Ice, Laser (he was dreamy!), Elektra, etc. doing now?

Plus, I always wanted to go through some of those courses -- the Assault (one with the tennis balls coming at you), and the Powerball.
