It's missing domestic dispute.

See now ... what it's missing for the Wal-Mart I frequent for supplies is 'flock of Hudderites'.

To my chagrin, I might have to go there tomorrow...this will definitely make the trip less painful.

Dear Penthouse,

I was at Kay-Bee Toys yesterday, and I saw a person who had truly given up. While distracted by her large mother, I assumed as I moved my eyes up her enormous truck and side-stepped her extremely generous frame to get down the Barbie aisle, I didn't pay the other woman much mind. But when I got to the checkout, I caught them.

The daughter, a big woman, but not as round as her mom, was wearing sweats from shoulder to calves, allowing the tightly-pressed skin to show all the way down to the back of the heal. Covering her feet were nothing other than dark purple slippers. I'd never seen someone wear slippers into a store -- and especially not into a big, heavily-trafficked mall. It was definitely a sight.

Fixed.
And two questions:
1) They still have Kay-Bee Toys stores? Thought they went out of business.
2) What the hell were you doing in the Barbie aisle?

1. Yes.
2. I've got a 4-year-old niece, who happens to be stuck in a princess-crazed life.

Need to add: Someone begs for money either at the door for their "church" or in the parking lot because they're homeless.

There's a guy who hangs around my local Wal-Mart and carries around a note explaining that he's deaf and needs money. After I shook my head no, I was so tempted to set off my car alarm to see if he would turn around, just to see if he's faking it.

I always notice someone audibly using the F word and a person whose gender I cannot readily identify.

Tonight, I was in a Wal-Mart parking lot. I was there only because it was a central location to meet another person. And as I'm waiting, I see a woman walking into the store in her bathrobe. A bathrobe. What kind of person goes out in public in a bathrobe, much less into a store??

Oh, I did eventually venture into the store, thinking I might pick up the latest SI to read while I waited. But guess what? No ****ing SI in the entire store. All those magazines and there is not a single SI (or even a Sporting News??)

I go back to my car wishing that someone would put me out of my misery.

I don't think Wally World is quite as trailer parkish here as it is down there, but I still hate that ****ing place. I just got back from there and people have lost all sense of common courtesy. I let some battleaxe past me in the aisle and she grunted in my general direction. I said 'thank you' and she goes 'HA!'

Seriously ... that's my last time there until after the holidays.

I avoid Wal-Mart at all costs, but I invariably end up in one during Christmas shopping, and I regret it every time. Not gonna happen this year! Every one I've been in, no matter the state, the customers have been rude (and dirty). I'll stick to Target, thanks.

Dude, I showered today...I am so *not* dirty. And I'm usually nice, long as nobody is between me and the $1.97 gallons of Hawaiian Punch.

I can't even find the new SI at Fred Meyer, I can find the NFL preview but not the new one.

Yeah, it doesn't really have that rep here. In Canuckistan it's no different than Zellers or other regional low-priced stores. We don't have a lot of the high-end retailers here that you find in the US.

That's awesome, Flip. And I agree with Debra Jackson. I hate getting all dolled up for my Wal-Mart excursions. When will society let me be?

If I have to go Wally World in my office clothes, I feel incredibly over-dressed.

I was at Wal-Mart today, and I saw the absolute worst cashier, in terms of customer service, ever. She fit the build -- and then some; her gut dipped well below her pants, her teeth weren't quite right and she was just nasty in ever meaning of the word.

I got in line after an elderly couple, so I knew it'd take me a little bit. But, with the 19 off the glow, this cashier became even uglier. "I'm closed!" she'd say to everyone who got behind me, each more harsh than the last. She must have said it 10-12 times -- and I understand that it can be frustrating; really, I get that. But then she'd complain about the customers, in front of the customers, to her co-workers.

After a few minutes of this, I locked eyes with a woman in her mid-30s across from my aisle, and we were thinking the same thing: How can someone this ... well, ugly in all forms -- especially to the customers -- be allowed to person a line. And then we knew: This is Wal-Mart.
