Sounds like someone's trading Camaro parts for Trans Am parts

The Contra Costa Times is reporting the same thing:

http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctimes/16481809.htm

Pacers get Murphy, Dunleavy, Diogu and Keith McLeod and the Warriors get Jackson, Harrington, Jasikevicius and Josh Powell.

Paging Chuck~T...aw, never mind.

Seems like an okay deal for the Warriors. Why would Indiana want Murphy and Diogu? Aren't they both (maybe I'm misinformed) fours?

Must be an image thing, because otherwise, the Pacers are just dumb

Troy Murphy has been garbage (and hurt) for the past year and has one of hte worst contracts in the league ... Dunleavy is blah, Diogu hasn't produced (yet - do like him) and the other guy is at throw-in ...

Meanwhile, Harrington is a proven low-post scorer. Team him with the foreign guy at center and the Warriors might have something. Jackson is a chucker who won't see time when Richardson comes back ... hell, he wont see time because Ellis and B Davis and Pietrus are all better than him.

I see this as the Warriors giving up junk .. for an All-star caliber player in Harrington.

When Richardson's hand heals:
B Davis, Ellis, Richardson Pietrus at the 1-3
Harrington and foreign guy at 4-5

These guys could make the playoffs as the 8th seed

Wonder if Stephen Jackson will find a new strip club to frequent and shoot-up in the Bay Area.

Use it without attribution. Happy New Year.

I think this is partly an image thing, but the Pacers are fools for giving up Harrington to move Jackson. Since Nelson is trying to implement the up-tempo Nellie-ball style, this will help a lot. While Jackson as a bit of a jacker, he is a good athlete who can run the floor well on the break, as can Harrington.

The players the Warriors are giving up don't fit that style, so it's a great move on their part. You have to wonder how bad that lockeroom atmosphere was in Indiana to go through with this.

Is there anyone out there willing to send a good defensive 2-guard to Utah? The folks here are getting tired of seeing the Jazz allow 50-point nights to anyone with a jumper.

I think the Pacers might have gotten the best potential player in Diogu, although he is an undersized 4 man.

Murphy's a 6-11 three-point shooter and Dunleavy is soft as Charmin. Oops, I almost typed Charmion out of habit.

Will there be enough basketballs to go around in Golden State once Richardson gets back? Him, Baron and Harrington...that's quite a collection of chuckers.

I think this trade sucks for my Pacers, but I'm glad the thug's outta town. I ****ing hate what the Pacers have become.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Pacers' motivation for the trade!

In retrospect, trying to build a team on a foundation of Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson was not one of the generally unimpeachable Donnie Walsh's better ideas. Though it still ranks better than drafting George McCloud in hopes he could play point guard, and hiring **** Versace as coach.

Are the Pacers completely blowing up this incarnation of the team? Do they look to deal O'Neal too and start completely from scratch?
