But I think they finish ahead of the Kings in the regular season if they still have Doncic. It's possible they could get both, but I don't think it was very likely.

I mean, the end result of this is that Collins hit on 19 and managed to get a 2. I imagine the odds of winning the NBA lottery are pretty similar to getting the one card you need. He also clearly didn't plan any of this, since they wouldn't have been in this position without the Irving injury.

I grew up a Lakers fan in the age of showtime. Don’t really root for the Lakers much anymore, but my hatred of the Celtics still goes down to my bones.

We said that about the Nuggets and Celtics in just the last two years. Teams change every year, and the Wolves haven't won anything yet. But as long as they have a healthy Edwards, they have a chance to be good.

C’s have been that team and it’s hard to know what happens if Tatum doesn’t get hurt.

No Denver sports team outside Elway’s Broncos has had the It to be great for long stretches.

Jokic is all time but the Nuggets never will be.

Anthony Edwards is a rare Jordan/Kobe breed who’ll lift the Wolves into an era of championship excellence.

I would put the Thunder, Rockets and Spurs ahead of the Wolves long term, but I’ll say this - Minnesota is in a really good place salary wise under the current CBA. They are doing this with two max guys and a lot of flexibility. Those other teams are going to face some tough salary decisions.
