If only the SFGs were going to the South Side from DEN, that would’ve been awesome to put some distance on LA and SD.

His progression has been really fun to watch. Peterson and Megill have been sort of tied together from a few years ago when they became bottom-of-the rotation regulars. Flashes of potential but couldn’t quite find consistency.
As you said, Peterson just clicked after that hip surgery. And really started to become that guy in the playoffs when he pitched out of the pen in a bunch of huge spots.
He’s been an excellent, dependable bulldog this season.
With two sellouts for fireworks after the games!

Alex Cobb is rehabbing in the minors. If -- and that's a big if -- he returns close to form, that would solidify the rotation without having to resort to picking up a veteran arm at the trade deadline.
Skubal-Flaherty-Cobb-Olson-Mize isn't shabby.

If ever there was a time to catch the Dodgers, this might be as good as any. Their starting pitching outside of Yamamoto has gone to crap with injuries. And the way the Giants have been pitching, there’s a chance to keep it close offensively and maybe steal two.

I have less confidence in Flaherty than I probably should. He didn't exactly blow 'em away in Baltimore.

Ugh. Kodai Senga just left his Mets start with what appears to be a badly pulled hamstring. Jumped for a high throw from Alonso covering first.
He's been lights out. Better than an arm injury, but looks bad.

Flaherty can be great. But he’s not consistent and as soon as the slightest thing goes wrong, he gets the red-ass and bad stuff often follows.

I'm still flabbergasted Cobb is still pitching. Has thrown enough innings to qualify for the ERA title twice, most recently in 2017. That was BEFORE his ill-fated deal with the Orioles. He's somehow become the old guy who gets paid well with the understanding he won't throw that many innings.
Yes it looks like he rolled his ankle, but he left the game with cramping. He was over 80 pitches … he wasn't going to complete the game.

Andrew Vaughn traded to Milwaukee, who immediately sends him down to triple-A.
All things considered, I think he'd rather have stayed with the White Sox.
My bad. He was already in triple-A, so he's moving from Charlotte to Nashville.
