Lakers already made a big splash with the Davis deal. What will Leonard do? Is the Warriors run over?

If KD and Klay are going to be non-factors for most or all of the season, you gotta figure the Warriors will be out of the picture. (Although if the players recover well, they'd be contenders again in 20-21.)
The Lakers have to get another piece to grab a ring during their LeBron window. With the hard miles on his body, when he loses it, it'll all go at once.

One thing is clear from the growing injury list: the 2020 Olympic Team is going to be a complete changing of the guard. None of those guys coming off major injuries will play, nor will LeBron, with his nagging aches and pains.

When trades are made in the NHL, they are immediate
The NBA makes trades, but pretends they aren't official until July 6
There's no reason the NBA can't get its salary cap set if the NHL can

If the Lakers were offering him three years instead of five, he may not.

The Rockets went all-in to get over on Golden State with the target zone being the first two years of the deal. They knew that the back half of that contract was going to be suboptimal, but I don't think they had a deep appreciation of just how sub-sub-suboptimal it would be. He has always been a pain in the ass to play with and that isn't going to get better, either.
