I'm not asking for retrospection. I'm sure Dusty had reasons for starting Volquez. I'd like to know from a Reds' fan perspective what those were. Before the game I couldn't come up withone good reason. Dusty's "splitting up the hard throwers" smelled like bull**** to me before he announced the starters. Can't get too low about Game 1 for Reds. We knew this was a huge mountain to climb versus Halladay to begin with. But I think the decision to start Volquez proved costly. He and Cueto have most electric stuff of the starters, but they both zone out at times, especially at bottom of the order. We saw that with the 7-8-9 guys getting walks and hits. Never should have happened.
