I also have newfound respect for A-Rod. To do what he does is stupendous. To do it with Sterling and Waldeman hanging from his scrotum deserves a network special. If there is any righteousness in this world, Waldeman, Sterling and Hawk Harrelson will spend eternity in a sound-proof booth so they can annoy the **** out of each other and leave the rest of us in peace.

and on the ball that bounced over callapso, waldman actually asked why callapso bent down to field the ball instead of standing straight up -- are you ****ing kidding me? the ball hit the lip of the infield (apparently, they got around to telling us later) and bounced over him and she wonders why he wasn't standing straight up? ****ing christ. just awful. i turned it as well. seriously, these two ****ing nitwits are unlistenable

buck, maybe your expertise can explain this: Why do you change pitchers BEFORE issuing an IBB?

Could be lots of reasons. From a pitcher's perspective, I always appreciated as much time as I could have to get used to a new mound. So if I'm warming up, I'd rather come in to intentionally walk a guy that I don't have to face rather than having the original pitcher do it. Gives you a few extra pitches to do some gardening around the mound and make it more comfortable.

From a strategy standpoint, there's the La Russian idea that you're setting up matchups, so you bring in a lefty pitcher to face a couple lefty hitters, but the first hitter gets pinch-hit for, and thus the reliever intentionally walks the first guy he faces to get a better matchup.
