So, today's the last day to buy seats that will be removed from Detroit's Tiger Stadium.

I bought two for $278.

My wife? Not impressed. At all.

What's the one purchase you made and you're wife or husband or significant other just couldn't understand, didn't appreciate or was just plain angry with?

This tops my/our list.

Season tickets to a sports team. I had no intention of going to many of the games, but as an investment they've more than paid for themselves twice over each year.

Is scalping legal in Utah?

This is my next purchase, simply to sell them and make some cash.

Yes. It's legal.

Need four tickets to the Cavs game? You can make your pitch to the CPD writer while you're there.

The purchase also gets me on the early list for various concerts, touring shows and things like the circus. I've bought and sold lots of prime seats to different things. I'm a scalper, but a small-time one.

Not too long ago Mrs. OOP spent over $400 on a lense for her camera. That has bought me plenty of slack in this area. :)

My replica NWA World's Heavyweight title -- the belt worn by the likes of Harley Race, Terry Funk and Ric Flair.

Hands down.

I want someone to say, 'Her engagement ring.'

My last "getaway" to Vegas with my buddies.

"Gee $$ that would have helped the kids' college funds don't you think?"

"Umm......"

Those trips get pretty hard to justify when you have kids...

Well, I can't say it now.

Mine was probably buying my 40-inch HDTV, a week before I was hosting a Super Bowl party. At least I got it in the divorce.

Also ...

It hasn't happened yet, but I can only imagine my wife's reaction when I show her my new TT/Tri bike next spring.

Re: You're Spouse's Most Hated Purchase

The HD package from my satellite provider. My wife doesn't think the HD picture is that much of an improvement from standard, which blows my mind. I have pointed out the sweat beads on football players' faces and the blades of grass at Augusta during HD telecasts, and she's unimpressed. Ditto for her beloved HGTV in high-def. ("Honey, look at the definition on those cedar closet hangers!")

Oddly, she was in favor of buying the 42-inch flatscreen. But almost every time we watch it she's gotta complain about the $30 a month or whatever it is for the HD programming. It's beyond maddening.

Re: You're Spouse's Most Hated Purchase

According to the subject line, I am my spouse's most hated purchase . . . . . . . . .

This changes every few months, but she's still holding a grudge about getting tickets to Rush on consecutive nights this summer. Not the cost as much as her having to see that band even once, much less twice.

I'm more in a situation where she urges me to make purchases that will make me happy (a new bike, the new Guitar Hero, tickets to the Ozzy Osbourne/Rob Zombie show, etc.), basically so she can buy herself stuff.

I'm shocked she stayed after you subjected her to Rush twice. That's grounds for divorce in some states :D
