Your mall food court weakness

So I'm finally starting my holiday shopping today, and as I pass by the food court I get a whiff of this delicious, stimulating, wonderful odor.

Auntie Anne's.

I swear, I nearly stopped and inhaled 1,273 calories on the spot. Mmmm, buttery and fattening, fresh, doughy pretzels.

The chinese place was tempting, too.

It's either AA or Mrs. Fields' that tempts me when I walk by.

I don't go to malls any more, but when I did it was Boardwalk Fries.

I haven't drank any soda for about 10 years now, except ... if I see an A&W, I'll get a root beer float. That only happens about once, maybe twice, a year, though.

Sbarro's. They just put those thick, exotic slices out there tempting you ... well, I'm not that strong.

On a side note, I LOVE food courts that have the news stands right in them, so you can go check out papers and stuff while waiting for your food.

Those big pretzels. Seems like the name of the place is different at every mall, but I love thsoe things, esp. with cheese dipping sauce.

The Great Steak and Potato Company. If I were rich, I'd hire one of their employees to make me chopped steak sandwiches until my arteries exploded.

On a side note, I LOVE food courts that have the news stands right in them, so you can go check out papers and stuff while waiting for your food.

Well, in the middle of the food court at the local mall, our paper has a massive banner. In fact, there's a couple around the mall. So even if you can't read the paper, you feel its presence. :D

And then there's about 10 more banners inside the local gym. And on paper placemats at all the local chain restaurants. Branding, branding, branding, we're told.

There are no malls anywhere within a 3-hour drive from where I live. :)

When I was a kid, I thought Chick-Fil-A was of the gods.

I love me some Chik-Fil-A, mostly because there isn't one within four hours of me, as far as I know.

As for food courts... it's Orange Julius. Either the strawberry or tripleberry. And if I were in KC, I'd probably eat too much cheese and cinnamon corn from Topsy's popcorn. Unfortunately (and fortunately, I suppose) I'm not in KC.

Mrs. Fields cookies. They used to do a thing where if you went later in the day, they would sell a bag of the ones from earlier that day for a like a buck or two and it would have 10 or 12 cookies inside it.
Chick-Fil-A is also good, but I was a little disappointed, even hung my head in shame that they didn't sell Grandma's Apple Pies, a reference fans of Ben Folds will get.
HoopsMcCann has the best Chick-Fil-A story ever though.
The stores aren't open on Sunday, but he was covering the Chick-Fil-A Bowl and it was on a Sunday and they had the food in the press box.
Still my favorite post here. Ever. On eating the Chick on Sunday, "It was like punching Jesus in the nuts."
