Writer - Team Insider - St. Louis Rams
Summary:
Responsible for creating written content for the website and other organizational publications, highlighting the team’s on-field activities. The writer would be responsible for securing players, coaches and staff for interviews for the site, as well as executing on-camera and radio responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
• Ideate, create and publish written football-specific content focused on team news and analysis
• Serve as on-camera and on-air reporter
• Write stories for Rams’ publications including stlouisrams.com and The Insider game day magazine, etc.
• Interview players, coaches and staff regarding on-field activities
• Attend all practices and games, home and away
• Cover NFL events such as NFL Draft and Combine
• Develop content ideas such as mailbags, blogs and other written, audio and video projects
• Participate in video discussions on the site
• Assist in posting and editing photo content to stlouisrams.com
• Maintain a personable social media presence to serve as team insider and promote the team
Skills/Experience:
• Degree in journalism or other related field
• 1-2 years experience covering professional or collegiate sports
• Strong work ethic and a desire to build a career in professional sports
• Display an outstanding ability to listen well
• Work well in a team environment
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Maintain a flexible work schedule
• Ability to meet aggressive deadline
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
