That's gotta be "meh" esp where the ballpark is, unless you want a commute and in ATL you don't.

I'm stunned they're replacing David O'Brien, but that's an interesting gig. The good ol' boys in that fan base want nothing but positive publicity about their team, even and especially when they employ a chronic domestic abuser like Marcell Ozuna, who at least knows his place and hits the baseball hard to make the fans happy. Walt Weiss is their first manager in 35 years who isn't Bobby Cox or a direct branch of his tree, so there's a chance for the new person to break in quicker with him than Snitker, who is great but also takes a while to warm up to people. But there's not much news to break on that beat b/c Alex Anthopoulos doesn't leak to ANYONE, not even the insiders. And you have to live in now deep MAGA Georgia. Anyway have fun!

$67k in Atlanta seems… meh? I know they’re not throwing money around anymore, but the starting wage isn’t impressive.
You’ll spend more than $67,000 in rent alone in the area of the Mixed Use Development. Now if you’re 23 and right out of college and you can find 3 of your frat bro/hedge fund nepo bros to live with you, do it.

And with about three weeks until pitchers and catchers. Fun, fun, fun.

Can confirm $67K will not get you too far in Atlanta proper, even if you are single/no kids. I think I needed a roommate when I was paid around that much and wanted to live in a nicer neighborhood inside the perimeter. I'm surprised the salary is that low, but I probably shouldn't be. I'm sure they are trying to walk that line with a young hire that has at least some daily reporting experience.

I'd be curious what DOB was making by the end. DOB is one of the reasons I subscribed to the Athletic when he moved from the AJC. He was the go-to guy for a very long time.

Add in Seth Emerson for UGA coverage and Jeff Schultz for regional commentary, and it was an easy choice. Now DOB and Schultz are gone and Seth is covering the SEC at large.
