her lighting people took 13 hours to make sure things were just right.

That's the thing. Without pro makeup and hair people, celebrities like these never looked all that great to begin with. (In the cases of Streisand and Marshall, they were barely passable at best.) So we shouldn't be all that shocked when they don't age the way we think they should.
